A Summer to Remember

I have had one of the best Summers in decades.  I’m now back . . . . I think.

Non Participation

I have not gone very many places or done very many things for a long time.  I have spent most of the time hanging with my lifetime companions: Bip, Pots and the twins, Ann and Nick.  Just going anywhere was emotionally and mentally exhausting.  The harder I tried, the more difficult it became.

My daughter was born during one of the most difficult times in my life.  I had just left an abusive marriage, was working full-time and my oldest daughter had just confided in me of her upcoming engagement when I discovered that I was pregnant.  I have spent the last 10 years since just trying to put my life back together and be a good mother.  It has not been easy for my sweet little girl, but she has been a joy and loved me anyway.

For years I have not been able to enjoy fun parks, water parks or amusement parks.  My lifetime companions have made fun overwhelming and exhausting.  Just pulling into the parking lot required deep breathing, positive self affirmations, concentrated relaxation and a lot of will power.  Now for the really hard part, entering the park and dealing with all those excited people.  Clonazepam please!

Time With My Daughter

This summer has been dedicated to my youngest daughter.  I did not work.  My parents bought “Pass of All Passes” that have more than paid for themselves. We have gone and played hard all Summer. We have had a lot of fun and enjoyed many adventures together.

Miniature golfing in the undersea course.

With our passes we had early entrance to the water park.  We could get in 2 1/2 hours before the general public.  We spent a lot of mornings enjoying this perk with family and friends.

Our Annual Family Campout.

Fun and Good Memories

I have spent quite a bit of time recovering from the energy expenditures required for all the playing we have done, but it has been worth it.  My daughter has had a great time and lots of stories to tell now that she is back in school.

I hope everyone had a good summer.  I would love to hear about some of your adventures and most memorable moments.
