I have been active all my life and been very proud of my great figure. In high school I weighed 120 pounds and had the classic 1940’s pin-up figure: 36″, 24″, 37″. I was in marching band and did 50 sit-ups every day. Then I had kids. I gained an average of 45 pounds per pregnancy. Five pregnancies in 10 years. That is about 225 pounds. After each pregnancy I lost all but a couple of pounds of the weight. After 15 years I weighed 140 and had gone from a size 5 to a size 8. I did exercise regularly and was very active with my children. I still looked great and my weight was not a problem.
Okay, so now that you hate me you should know that about 9 years ago my weight ballooned to over 200 pounds (picture next week). I’m still active and very fit but now I’m also fat. Significantly so. Why you ask? What changed things? We will talk about that later. In fact, that is what I have decided to write about on Wednesdays.
I have decided that this year I will lose at least 50 lbs. From how my weight became a problem to my initial doctor’s visit through each step along the way I will share my challenges, frustrations and successes. I need an accountability partner I thought I would ask you for support. I invite any who wish to participate to join me. As I share my journey and success I would really like hear from you. Some cheers would be great and your stories would be awesome.
Let’s make 2012 a year of wellness without weakness.
Go for it! You can do it. It’s a struggle, but in a year you will be so proud of your accomplishment. (It just sneaks up on you through the years, be determined!)

Thank you. I appreciate all the “cheering” I can get.
