Okay, so for those of you who have been reading my blog for a while (and those that are new) I thought I would do an update of how I’m doing on my nutrition program. As you can see, I’m doing very well.
Medication is Fattening
For people who take medications, especially those who take a lot of medications, we all know that weight gain is a popular side effect. When I first started my medications 16 years ago I weighed only 128 pounds. I had never had a problem with my weight and had actually lost almost 300 pounds with 5 pregnancies and 10 pounds here and there. Then I started on my five different medications and I gained 60 pounds in 6 months. Then I got pregnant unexpectedly and hit 222 pounds. I dropped 25 pounds after the baby was born.
I have spent the last two years exercising an hour a day, six days a week. I’ve done yoga, strength training and aerobics. I gained 20 pounds and about 6 inches around my waist. I have gone to the doctor, but he couldn’t explain it. I was at my wit’s end and frustrated as all get out.
Favao Wins
Favao is the nutrition program that I started back in June. It is NOT a diet. I eat six times a day and am never hungry. I am required to eat smoothies, ice cream, chicken salad, kabobs, burritos, sandwich wraps, and all kinds of other yummy food. Over a five month period I have lost about 19 inches as follows:
- 6 inches off my waist
- 2 inches off each arm
- 4 inches off each thigh
- 1 inch off my hips
I have gone from a size 20 to a size 16. I have clothes in my closet that I am wearing for the 1st time in over a year. I have more energy and sleep better.
Time to Celebrate!
Dark chocolate. Home made ice cream. Cheese quesadillas. Oh! Wait! I’m eating those anyway. Maybe I’ll go buy me some new clothes. Have a great Wednesday everyone!
