So, this weekend I had one of the most awesome experiences I’ve ever had. I took my daughter to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform their Christmas program.
I was worried that my sweet 9-year-old would not be able to sit in silence for the first half of the program which they broadcast live. She sat with rapt attention and a huge smile on her face. I was worried that my anxiety would overwhelm me in that packed conference center. I was fine. Neither of us could speak because we were so overwhelmed by the spirit of the program. What powerful music.
Alfie Boe was the featured soloist and has the most amazing voice. When he sang Bring Him Home from Les Miserables, most of the audience was in tears including me. Tom Brokaw was the narrator and talked about the Candy Bomber of WWII. The dancers were fabulous as they performed with the choir and the orchestra.
How could this get any better? Family makes everything better. My brother sings with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. My niece was one of the dancers and we had seats right in front of her.
How did I get tickets? Well, it is always nice to have connections. My brother got us tickets. What better gift at Christmas than to be filled with the spirit of Christmas. Thank you little brother for a fabulous Sunday.
That looks so lovely! Now I am off to Google the candy bomber…

I love to hear the choir sing – we heard them once in Salt Lake City when I was little. They are scheduled to be on TV here shortly – and I’ve already go it set to record -something you can listen to more than once for sure.

I find it amazing that this choir is all volunteer. These people dedicate hours of their spare time to practice and perform. They hold regular jobs and have families. I didn’t think much about it until my brother was accepted into this amazing choir. I listen often simply because they are so uplifting. Thank you for stopping by to chat.

Although I am not Mormon, I do have Mormon friends. They are some of the kindest, finest people- a pleasure to be around. Congrats on your brother’ selection for the choir – it must be an amazing experience. Hope you have a Merry Christmas
